Another smoothie bowl? Yes, yes indeed. There’s been a lot of buzz lately about how healthy food may not necessarily lead to weight loss and that people should be careful about what they consume. While that may be true, I strongly believe that it is more important to eat right, even when that means consuming nutrient-dense foods that come with higher calories.
Smoothie bowls are completely versatile because you can choose what to add, blend and it’s ready to be enjoyed. But smoothies that contain adequate protein, fibre and fat will help you get the most out of it and keep you full for longer – ultimately curbing hunger pangs more effectively.
Here’s a simple Green Goddess smoothie bowl recipe that I absolutely love. You can also forget about the toppings and just enjoy it as a smoothie to-go for busy mornings!
1 frozen banana
1-2 cups English parsley
1/4 medium zucchini
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup baby oats
2 tbsp organic soy powder or protein powder (optional)
Nuts and seeds
Pumpkin seed butter
Blend all ingredients (except the water) in a blender until smooth. Gradually add in water until you’ve reached your desired consistency. Pour the smoothie into a bowl, decorate with toppings and serve immediately. Yum!
